HELI-SKIING
Heli-Skiing and Heli-Boarding in Lech am Arlberg
There are only two locations in the whole of Austria, where heli-skiing and heli-boarding are permitted. With both Schneetäli (2450 m) and neighbouring Mehlsack (2652 m) in the Arlberg region heli-skiing in the Arlberg provides an exclusive pleasure in which the adrenaline rush is guaranteed!
Stand at the top ... and feel your jaw drop. Snow crystals sparkle in the light of the morning sun as you make the first tracks in amazing powder snow or fabulous firn slopes. The whole time, the breath-taking panorama of Arlberg’s mountains stretch out in front of you.
Lech Ski School’s ski and mountain guides will take you safely down a descent lasting around one hour into the romantic Zug valley.
Flight reservations are made via the ski school office. Due to safety concerns, heli-skiing trips must be escorted by an experienced ski and mountain guide from the ski school. Flights can be taken when weather conditions allow from Monday to Friday (no weekend flights available) and excluding holidays.
Heli-skiing MEHLSACK
Mehlsack or “The Flour Sack” offers fantastic terrain for deep powder skiing making it an ideal destination for skilled and experienced skiers. A 20 minute walk in the bottom of the valley along a well maintained path takes you back to Zug (Local return bus services to Lech are available as well as the Zugerbahn Chairlift to return to the main ski area). The alternative route takes you down to Spuller Lake (Spullersee) and offers many sunny slopes and is particularly popular in late spring.
Heli-skiing SCHNEETAL – ORGELSCHARTE
The helicopter landing site is situated below Orgelscharte, from there the run leads into Schneetal “Snow Valley” behind Zug-Alpele. This slope is well suited to skiers of an intermediate off piste level and will have better conditions during the spring.

Since several different factors determine whether heli-skiing can take place (snow situation, weather conditions, availability of ski guides, etc.), we cannot firmly guarantee that tours can take place on requested dates! Therefore reservations can be accepted only AT VERY SHORT NOTICE!
Flights depart from Kriegerhorn (above Lech) and Flexenpass (above Zürs).
