THE ARLBERG – THE CRADLE OF ALPINE SKIING
Tradition keeps our ski school exceptional
We set new standards and have been doing so since 1925. No one can dispute that the Arlberg is the birthplace of alpine skiing. Johann Müller had ordered what were still then considered “strange boards” from Scandinavia to help him get around more easily in winter. His first attempts failed miserably, but it wasn’t long before he was able to travel from Warth to Lech in an hour and a half. This was the first ski tour of the Arlberg! It did not take long for the younger generation to realise that this practical means of transportation could also be an entertaining recreational activity. The first ski races in the Alps were held in Arlberg in 1904. Two decades later in 1925, Lech ski school was founded with the grand total of two instructors! Today we are among the largest and most respected ski schools in the world.
We have the duty of honouring this heritage. Every day we strive to ensure that we continue to maintain the reputation we have amongst the best ski schools globally. Your stay in Lech is sure to be an unforgettable winter sports experience thanks to the personalised encouragement, care and tutelage we devote to our guests.
In our group courses, private instruction or on our Area Check, our ski resort will cast its spell over you. We endeavour to pass to you the very thing that the Arlberg gives to us day in and day out: The pleasure of being able to enjoy a very special ski resort to the fullest.
